Macomb County Habitat for Humanity works throughout the year; primarily on Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Saturday each week.
We update the Volunteer Hub often with construction activities, so please check back with us regularly. We work RAIN or SHINE, and cancel only for lightning or severe weather. Unforeseen circumstances may warrant a change; ie permits, weather conditions, etc., so please refer to the Volunteer Hub the day before your build date to confirm location and status. If cancelled, we will notify all registered volunteers by phone and email, and indicate on the Volunteer Hub that the event is cancelled for that day. Any questions please call us at 586.263.1540.

ALL Court-ordered community service volunteers MUST apply through the Restore.
Applications are available at the Restore and must be filled out in person before starting your service. Hours will not be approved for any Court-ordered volunteer that does not have the appropriate Restore paperwork prior to serving. Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to refuse any volunteer for any reason.
New Volunteer? Sign in to register! Please note that all NEW users Must watch the safety video (below) and take the short course attached to it. For insurance purposes, we cannot allow any new volunteers to work on build site without this training.

Please dress appropriately and wear closed toe work shoes; it's a Habitat safety policy and MIOSHA compliance requirement as well. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on construction worksites. Those 16 and 17 years of age are permitted to work with restrictions on the worksites if accompanied by an adult 18 years or older and have their parent’s signature on the waiver form. Habitat requires each new volunteer to watch the construction safety video prior to volunteering at the worksite. Click the link here to watch www.hfhvolunteerinsurance.com. On home page click on Volunteer Tab, click on Begin Now, click on Take Training Course Now, enter access code- W8NAEBTG-submit, and go to Volunteering on Habitat for Humanity Jobsite. Volunteers need to complete “Volunteering on a Habitat for Humanity Job Site”, which covers general safety and what to expect on the sites. After watching the video,you must take the quiz.Your safety is our 1st Concern.

Site Leaders- Requires some experience and knowledge in framing, residential remodeling (some mechanical), and basic home improvement skills. While some experience is needed, we will train. Responsibilities include working with and leading volunteer groups on build sites, assigning tasks for the day, monitoring and managing volunteers in the safe practice in the use of tools, climbing, lifting, etc. For more information please contact Terri Benson at 586-263-1540 ext.103
Site Hosts- No experience necessary. Responsibilities include greeting and signing in volunteers on our build sites, introduce homeowners(if present), help with set up and clean up if lunch is provided,help to maintain organization on build site, assist house leader.
