Welcome to Macomb County Habitat Volunteer Hub!

Macomb County Habitat for Humanity works throughout the year; primarily on Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Saturday each week.  

We update the Volunteer Hub often with construction activities, so please check back with us regularly. We work RAIN or SHINE, and cancel only for lightning or severe weather. Unforeseen circumstances may warrant a change; ie permits, weather conditions, etc., so please refer to the Volunteer Hub the day before your build date to confirm location and status.  If cancelled, we will notify all registered volunteers by phone, text or email, and indicate on the Volunteer Hub that the event is cancelled for that day. ALL Court-ordered community service volunteers MUST apply through the Restore. 
Applications are available at the Restore and must be filled out in person before starting your service.  Hours will not be approved for any Court-ordered volunteer that does not have the appropriate Restore paperwork prior to serving. Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to refuse any volunteer for any reason.

Unforeseen circumstances may warrant a change; ie permits, weather conditions, etc., so please refer to the Volunteer Hub the day before your build date to confirm location. 

Please dress appropriately and wear closed toe work shoes; it's a Habitat safety policy and MIOSHA compliance requirement as well. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on construction worksites.  Those 16 and 17 years of age are permitted to work with restrictions on the worksites if accompanied by an adult 18 years or older and have their parent’s or guardian's signature on the waiver form.  Call the Volunteer Dept at 586-263-1540 if you have any questions.

!Help Wanted-Help-Wanted-Help-Wanted!

Site Leaders- Requires some experience and knowledge in framing, residential remodeling (some mechanical), and basic home improvement skills. While some experience is needed, we will train. Responsibilities include working with and leading volunteer groups on build sites, assigning tasks for the day, monitoring and managing volunteers in the safe practice in the use of tools, climbing, lifting, etc. For more information please contact Dave Tirsell at 586-263-1540 ext.102

Site Hosts- No experience necessary. Responsibilities include greeting and signing in volunteers on our build sites, introduce homeowners(if present), help with set up and clean up if lunch is provided,help to maintain organization on build site, assist house leader. The site is east of Gratiot, south of Joy Blvd. Stepnitz connects to Joy Blvd, and the home is at the corner of Orchard St. and Stepnitz. 

DTE Energy Legal Department will be providing the volunteers this day.

The site is east of Gratiot, south of Joy Blvd. Stepnitz connects to Joy Blvd, and the home is at the corner of Orchard St. and Stepnitz.

GM IT team will be providing most of the volunteers this day.

 We will have volunteers from GM Interior Services lending a hand on this day.

Brush with Kindness work for seniors on exteriors of two owner occupied homes - will include building an access ramp, porch and handrail work,some painting, landscaping, replacing a door and such.

Meet at Shelby West Clubhouse - 12277 Conservation Trail, Shelby Twp. 48315 (or by the pool) , to car pool to the sites on Blue Heron Dr. and Wintergreen.

Stephen Schocke and his team of Thrivent Financial volunteers from St. John Lutheran, Romeo, and elsewhere will be helping this day.

Meet at Shelby Forest Park Clubhouse - 13955 Bronte Dr. S., Shelby Twp. 48313, to car pool to the site on Dunstable Ct.. and Kingston Ct. Reach the clubhouse by going east on Petticoat Lane, off Schoenherr north of 22 Mile Rd.

GM PPO team volunteers will be helping this day.
